How to survive a heart attack?
These are some signs one should never ignore:
- Chest pain
- Feeling or sensation of heaviness on chest
- Sudden sweating
- Nausea
- Stiffness of neck & arm
- Breathlessness
Who’s at risk?
People with the following characteristics are more
prone and susceptible to a heart attack:
- Smokers
- People who are obese and overweight
- People with high Blood pressure & Cholesterol
But never forget:
A heart attack can arise even if no symptoms are
present.
What to do if someone around you suffers from a
heart attack?
- If a person suffers from a sudden heart attack, make
the person lie down. Ensure that the person doesn’t walk or talk.
- Call for an ambulance immediately or rush to the
hospital.
- If the medical aid takes time to arrive, start the
process of cardio pulmonary resuscitation
- If by chance the patient is supposed to be rushed to
the hospital, strictly ensure the patient doesn’t walk on his own as this
may worsen the condition.
- Ensure the patient is transferred from wheelchair or
a stretcher.
